How it works

How the performance fee actually works

We only take a cut once you've already banked yours. If a recommendation never ships (or never saves what we said it would), we don't get paid either. It's a win-win: we're only motivated to find you as much real, completed savings as possible.

  1. We find the waste, you decide what to fix

Jetscale scans your cloud accounts (read-only, we never touch infrastructure without your say) and surfaces recommendations: rightsizing an oversized instance, moving cold storage to a cheaper tier, cleaning up orphaned volumes, adding lifecycle rules, and more. Every recommendation shows the resource, the change, and the dollar savings it unlocks.

  2. Nothing is billed until a recommendation is completed

Every recommendation moves through a simple lifecycle: Discovered → In Progress → Completed. "Completed" means the change has actually been applied to your infrastructure and is generating savings, not just suggested. Discovered and in-progress recommendations are always free to review; the performance fee only starts once a fix goes live.

  3. The savings are yours first, up to your free allowance

Every plan includes a free annual allowance: $5,000/year on Essential, $40,000/year on Business, and a declining-rate structure on Enterprise. Any unlocked savings within that allowance are 100% yours; we don't take a cut. The allowance resets each year on your plan's renewal date.

  4. Above the allowance, we take our plan's percentage of the savings, not your bill

Once your completed recommendations' unlocked savings cross the free allowance for the year, we start charging our share on the portion above it, at your plan's rate (25% / 20% / 10%-and-dropping). That fee is a percentage of the savings we generated for you. It's never a percentage of your total cloud spend. And if a recommendation delivers less than expected, you're never charged more than the percentage of what it actually delivered. We get our share only if you get yours. That's the whole deal.

  5. A worked example

A rightsizing recommendation on an oversized instance is marked Completed and unlocks $756/month in recurring savings. On the Business plan (20% performance fee), Jetscale bills 20% × $756 = $151.20/month for that recommendation; you keep the remaining $604.80/month, every month, automatically, with no extra work on your end.

  6. Billing cadence

Most recommendations unlock a recurring monthly saving rather than a one-time windfall, so we bill our share monthly for as long as that saving keeps recurring, up to 12 months per recommendation before it rolls into your next annual cycle. Every month's performance-fee line items are grouped into a single invoice, charged once each item's due date has passed a 7-day grace period. One clean invoice per month, never a stream of micro-charges, and always a few days' notice before anything is billed.

FAQ

Pricing questions

No. Recommendations that are only Discovered or still In Progress never generate a fee. You only pay on completed, savings-generating changes.

The combined monthly savings unlocked by all of your completed recommendations during your current annual plan window. Once that total passes your plan's allowance, the performance fee applies only to the amount above it.

The performance fee is calculated against the savings a recommendation is actually generating each month. Revert a change and it stops generating savings, so it stops being billed from that month on — there is nothing to cancel and no minimum term to serve out. You are never billed for a saving that did not materialize.

Yes: upgrade or downgrade at any time from your billing settings; your free allowance and performance-fee rate update to your new plan going forward.

Enterprise starts our share at 10% and lowers it further the more you unlock, with everything in Business included plus dedicated support and onboarding. Talk to sales for a custom quote based on your cloud footprint.
